TO theOttawaCarletonDistrictSchoolBoard: -
WHEREAS:  The OCDSB was provided with a Staff Recommendation (Report No. 12-004 to Committee of the Whole) concerning the Kanata South-Boundary/Grade/Program Review on 31 January 2012 and that set of recommendations, among other things, calls for the creation of a Grade 7/8 Annex to AY Jackson Secondary School at the Glen Cairn Elementary School.  This is completely contrary to the wishes of the Kanata South Community as expressed by the Kanata South Accommodation Review Committee (ARC) on 15 December 2011.  The residents of Kanata wish to publicly express to their elected representatives that the accommodation and program plan formulated by the Kanata South Accommodation Review committee (ARC) be adopted by the OCDSB.
WE, the undersigned, petition the Ottawa Carleton District School Board:We, the undersigned, support the Kanata South ARC’s recommendations.

We, the undersigned, do NOT support the OCDSB’s staff recommendation to remove grades 7 and 8 from W.O. Mitchell Elementary School.
We, the undersigned, ask that, if staff recommendations are to be considered, that those plans are modified to keep grades 7 and 8 at W.O. Mitchell Elementary School.

    Hi – The url in the confirmation email doesn’t work properly. The email reader is only picking up half of the text as a URL. So, if someone clicks on the underlined portion, it won’t work. One must copy the entire URL text and then paste into the address bar. Just letting you know as the people who have signed but not acknowledged the petition may not know the workaround.

    I hope this petition gets the attention it deserves.

    W.O.Mitchel is a community school that currently receives few bussed students. The proposal would mean bussing more students to WOM and more students out of the WOM catchment area to other schools. Not only would this be terribly disruptive to all families of grade 7/8 students in the WOM catchment area, it seems to be more expensive and less environmentally friendly.
